First drive of 2011 wounded the tranny. Too much low down torque after ECU remap. A bitch to be sure. Engine sits facing backward in bay atop the gearbox lubed by motor oil. Ring and pinion in there, too. So to fix requires engine/trans package to bInformation

My ride is an extremely rare - production run of 288 - 1988 SAAB SiS (Springtime in Sweden) 900 turbo convertible. Over the course of ten years it underwent an extensive frame-on resto/mod culminating in the car you see here. Engine and transmission were subjected to a complete performance rebuild raising the stock 160hp to 318hp. Other mods: 18" custom fabricated wheels, suspension poly re-bushing, performance gas shocks, Brembo slotted / cross drilled rotors clamped by ceramic pads / stock calipers, full repaint, new convertible top, Alpine-JL audio-Kicker-MB Quart stereo system. There are other quicker, faster, and more exotic cars out there, many proudly shown on the Car Community, but none that fuel my automotive brainpan more than my SAAB. It's unique in style and small engine (2.0) performance combined with 25mpg fuel conservation, and I have yet to see another SiS in the flesh. I like that.

by Scott McLaughlin 1 year agoEl burro gives thanx lol yeah man my had a 5 bearing turbo 900 we used to crank the boost up and jus spank ass lol ..... There good cars and as u mentioned a great car to cruise at 80+ these kids don't know these days enjoy man!!

by Scott McLaughlin 1 year agoI took the airsearch turbo from a Saab put it in my teggy great turbo man really reliable even in the dead of summer never seems to act up ....... Nice blcar btw my boy had a 900 turbo boy those were the days
